For those of you who love eggs and appreciate the difference between the freshly laid kind to the sitting on the shelf variety, then Just Been Laid is
something you need to know about.
Returning home in 2017 to help run the family beef farm, located in Eccleston (1hr 30mins from Newcastle), Sarah Sivyer reintroduced chickens back to the
farm and along the way came up with the concept of offering a farm to door (almost) egg delivery business, with the idea being that their delicious
'Just Been Laid' eggs are enjoyed at their freshest.
It's no easy task to guarantee that the eggs you either fry, scramble or poach are laid within 72 hours of delivery, there's a whole lot of collecting,
grading, packing and then driving of the eggs to each of the pickup locations. However, for Sarah it's all in the best interest not only of the chooks,
who live a happy and healthy life, but for her customers who get to enjoy farm fresh eggs, the way they used to be eaten.
Chatting with Sarah at the end of her weekly deliveries Sarah talks us through the Just Been Laid concept and just how easy, and delicious, it is,
"We've tried to keep the Just Been Laid concept as simple as possible, which is why we came up with a really easy to use registration page, where you select
either 6, 12 or 24 eggs, then your delivery location (list is below), then all you need to do is collect your eggs anytime from 9am each Thursday.
"The payment is deducted each week and you can stop anytime, or if you're going away you can have a friend or family member enjoy your eggs for the weeks
you can't collect."
"If you're having one of those weeks and completely forgot to collect your eggs and they are still at the cafe on delivery day (Wednesdays) then we
recollect the previous week's deliveries and donate them to Oz Harvest which means someone in need is going to get a fresh nutritious meal."
