Get ready for the highly anticipated yearly art extravaganza, Sculptures at Scratchley, making its glorious comeback to the breathtaking Newcastle Harbour at Fort Scratchley this May.

This year, the event is poised to surpass last year’s records, welcoming art enthusiasts and giving visitors the chance to enjoy and explore a blend of creativity and history in an unrivalled setting.

“Last year we had 33 artists, this year we have over 75, last year we had 50 artworks, this year we have over 150. We were blown away by the public support last year with over 26,000 people attending.

“This year, with Out of the Square Media (OOTS) on board as our Major Partner donating their services and support from Newcastle Herald, City of Newcastle, and Octopus Garden Design, we hope to exceed those numbers well and truly. Ensuring even more people get to enjoy this free-to-attend, very special event,” Grahame Wilson, Sculptures at Scratchley Artist and Co-Founder said.

Expanding on last year’s success, Sculptures at Scratchley will also be setting up within the Fort Scratchley Function Centre, offering artists a secure and weatherproof space for their installations.

This expansion not only elevates the experience for both artists and visitors, but also allows for a broader participation and variation in the artworks.

The event will run from Wednesday to Monday each week, from 10am-4pm, remaining closed on Tuesdays, offering ample time for visitors to immerse themselves in the artistic expressions against the picturesque backdrop of Newcastle Harbour.

Event catalogues will be available to purchase for $10 which allows individuals a vote in the People’s Choice Award and an entry into the draw to WIN a wonderful bronze sculpture – Bazant.
