The Thai street food flavour geniuses of Newcastle rebrand to Schilly Street!

What originally started as a humble food truck has since launched into two separate venues, Charlestown, and Jesmond, and has just launched its new menu alongside a delightful new rebrand!
Meet Schilly Street.
Brought to you by the husband-and-wife team, Rocki and Lou Suksamosorn, the brand has gone from strength to strength. Since its inception as a food truck in 2017, then moving into venue number one at Charlestown in March 2020 and Jesmond a few months later in late 2020, the local business has once again changed things up to bring you a new brand, still with the same distinct flavours Schilly is known for.
“Our original concept that we carried over from our food truck business was Thai fusion, however, with a larger kitchen and a great team of chefs we have since evolved our menu and concept. The use of global ingredients not just Asian is more our thing. But still bringing our bold punchy flavours,” Lou shared.
Originally known as Schilly Thai Fusion, as the business evolved, the couple realised the name didn’t reflect everything that the team was capable of offering.
“We felt the name Schilly Thai Fusion didn’t align with the direction we have taken with our new menu. Our concept will always be fusion flavours, but we also want to take people on a flavour adventure around the world.”
Bringing Schilly Street to life as of Friday, 3rd of May 2022, the local foodie joint hopes to give diners the feel of discovering a destination of flavour through their concept of street food.
So, what’s this new menu all about?
“The menu is so friggen exciting! Our much-loved customers and soon-to-be customers are going to be taken on a massive flavour adventure. We have expanded our roti wrap menu from four wraps to eight new wrap options.
“Each wrap has its own identity and is packed with global ingredients from different destinations around the world. But we thought we would take it one step further and give a bowl option, so each wrap can also be created as a fresh noodle bowl. And we have also got some pretty exciting new side options as well.”
