Get toasty at Hotel Delany with their new menu
Visited the iconic Darby St food, drink, and entertainment venue, Hotel Delany recently? You might be well-accustomed to the recent additions like the decked-out Sports Bar and their newly launched Delany Dinners, but have you taste-tested the new foodie offering?
With Head Chef Stephen Scott at the helm, Hotel Delany’s launch of their Winter menu is nothing short of delicious. Joining the Darby St venue team back in November last year, Stephen brings his culinary skills to the table with a focus on simple yet refined flavours.
“We are lucky enough to be smack bang in a region that lends itself to premium produce from the land and sea. Our restaurant celebrates that, with pure NSW ingredients showcased throughout the menu.”
Bite and sip your way through Hotel Delany’s extensive winter menu or drop in to enjoy some of the venue’s daily specials!
You can't go wrong with a starter, and Hotel Delany has pulled together an offering of starters certain to hit the spot for all types of diners.
Our picks? The house-made Potato Scallops made with beer-battered and fried potato slices served with curry spice ketchup goes down a treat. Break it open and watch the steam escape from these fresh as fresh can get Potato Scallops!
There is of course the tried and tested favourite; the Fish Taco. Complete with crispy fried barramundi served on a soft flour tortilla with red cabbage, chipotle mayo, and fresh tomato salsa.
Onto the mains menu, Stephen has kept all your Aussie pub classics but insists on us trying some of the delectable offerings you might usually not go for. The result? Nothing short of unexpected deliciousness.
Up first is the Veal Cutlet, the 300g bone-on veal cutlet served crumbed with in-house herb and parmesan blend; yum!
The Waygu Rendang Pie is the one to order if you’re after a hearty winter dish. The 9+ marble score Wagyu Shin is slowly braised in Stephen’s rendang sauce complete with coconut and spices and served in a puff pastry pie alongside spring onion mash.
We couldn’t leave the vegetarians out, and with the Roast Eggplant dish; you’ll almost be keen to convert to a full-time vegetarian diet! The Slow roasted eggplant is served with coconut yoghurt, almond & herb salad, and finished with pickled chilli and spring onion oil.
Lucky last is a traditional favourite with a Hotel Delany Twist, Calamari Ragout! Hand-diced and slow-cooked calamari cooked in a rich tomato and herb sauce, tossed with short-cut rigatoni, and finished with garlic fried breadcrumbs and fresh chives.
