What's On

One event. One start time. Multiple locations.

On Sunday 16th October 2022, a synchronised race event will take place across 21 cities in Australia & New Zealand, and Newcastle's included in the line up!

Over 100,000 participants will run for a cause, running for our very own wonder of the world – the Great Barrier Reef.

run4reef newcastle 2022

Races will start simultaneously with a global leaderboard where you will not only compete against your local runners, but runners from across the continent. Open to runners of all fitness levels you can register for your preferred distance of either 1km, 5km, 10km, or the elite 10km race2zero designed for elite runners.

The run4reef is all about raising awareness across the globe – one step at a time. As concerns about the health of the Great Barrier Reef grew, the run4reef initiative has expanded to provide an opportunity for participants to transform not only their own health and well-being, but also the health of their communities and ultimately the Great Barrier Reef.
