This weekend's market has been cancelled
The founder of The Olive Tree Market Justine Gaudry spoke to us this morning for an update for their much-loved community about rescheduling this Saturday’s planned Olive Tree...
We know how much our supporters want to see Olive Tree bringing Civic Park to life. We do too, this is our passion, and we will be back soon!
Our mission over the last 13 years has always always been to create vibrant community events that foster, support, and nurture creatives from all artistic disciplines - from Newcastle, Regional NSW Wales, and Sydney. Creating opportunities and championing our stallholder community who attend our events is what we are about.
We love bringing bustling market days to the heart of Newcastle, where you are able to experience the community spirit of Olive Tree’s thriving creative community. We are proud that our welcoming, exciting, community space promotes meaningful connections between our visitors and talented maker community, locals and tourists traveling far and wide to experience the buzz and community spirit of Olive Tree - Newcastle largest, thriving creative community that has been the launching pad for thousands of artists and designers at over 120 market days.
Thank you for your belief in our market, and for understanding the need to reschedule our return to Civic Park. Read our information below on why we are playing our part to keep our community safe.
We will be back with re-charged energy, to bring you a spectacular series of COVID Safe markets that celebrate creativity and innovation this Spring. Keep an eye on our social channels for more information.
Our whole creative community looks forward to bringing you the best of art, design, street food, and amazing music. Stay tuned and please continue to support our amazing makers online through their social media and e-commerce platforms.
Given the current COVID situation we are doing our part to ensure the health and safety of our stallholders, customer, and visitor communities. This is our first and foremost priority. We had hoped the lockdowns would have been lifted, and COVID numbers would have dropped to a level that was considered safe by the NSW Government.
Like everyone, we have been carefully monitoring the unfolding COVID-19 situation in NSW, in order to fully understand the potential impacts on our event and to ensure we make informed and well-planned decisions for The Olive Tree Market.
Recent events including the extended lockdown in Greater Sydney Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Wollongong, and ShellHarbour, the growth in numbers of COVID-19 cases, and forecasted severe weather conditions, are preventing the safe operation of this Saturday's market.
