Launching on April 1st, Newcastle Food Month is well and truly under way and now is the time to get your foodie calendar sorted. This year's feature events is a mouth watering collection of of degustation dinners, carefully curated cocktails and red carpet galas. Check out some of the highlights below. 

Seafood and Chardonnay Experience

An icon of the Newcastle restaurant scene, the team at Scratchley's on the Wharf will be preparing a special three course seafood menu matched with some of Australia’s iconic chardonnays. Presented by First Creek winemaker Greg Silkman, Greg will pair some of his finest First Creek and Silkman award winning chardonnays, along with wines from other iconic Chardonnay producers.

Thai Degustation

A Newcastle first, Benjamas Thai on Darby Street has created a spectacular Thai degustation dinner in collaboration with First Creek Wines. Owner/Chef Chin has developed a seven-course degustation menu including Benjamas favourites such as Ka Nom Pang Nomoo and Koa Krapow moo Kai Doa, as well as some traditional Thai surprises. First Creek Winemaker Greg Silkman will match a wine with each course from their extensive range of wines. Watch out for the 2014 Winemakers Reserve Semillon and the Balmoral Reserve Chardonnay.

The newly renovated Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club, Nautica Dining, invites you to a Six-Course Seafood Tasting Menu featuring Peter Drayton Wines. Signal Box Seafood BBQ

Executive Chef Dan James and Head Chef George Mirosevich invite you to experience a spectacular seafood BBQ.
