Newcastle’s love of bespoke interiors curated spaces, and dreamlike styling continues to thrive with the arrival of Sydney OG interior design and styling studio landing in town, Mae & Co.

Brought to you by Mudgee born-and-bred but now adopted Novocastrian, Kelsie Sibley, Mae & Co. has been serving Sydneysiders since its inception in 2020 and since relocating to Newcastle in 2022, we interior-obsessed locals have finally been able to dip our toes in some Mae & Co magic.

Completing her study at Sydney Design School, Kelsie briefly explored the world of commercial interior design before launching into freelance gigs where Mae & Co has now grown and helped clients create their dream homes for the past three years.

“I’ve seen my parents reap the rewards of having their own business. The hard work they put in has given them flexibility and freedom that many people can only dream about. Watching and learning from them has been inspirational to me and made me realise what’s possible for my own dreams,” Kelsie shared.

The multidisciplinary design studio offers clients a collection of creative minds to design, style, and photograph spaces that reflect individual personalities and preferences with a strong focus on simplicity and functionality.

“We’ve helped so many people from Sydney to Mudgee and now into the Newcastle region… It’s been a wild ride, but I wouldn’t change a thing.”

The new business expansion into the Newcastle and Hunter region will continue to offer its three core services; Interior Design, Interior Styling, and Interior Photography.

“We do everything from interior design of entirely new builds to smaller refreshed and renovations, as well as stand-alone home/Airbnb styling and photography.”

“I’m drawn to the beauty, peace, and simplicity of coastal and botanical style. When I design, I bring elements from nature into each project with rich natural colours, earthy materials, organic textures, and beautiful statement pieces that evoke a sense of calmness.”

In addition to the studio’s interior styling, design, and photography offering, come February 2023, Mae & Co launched their newest offering, Mae & Co Home, giving keen interior lovers the opportunity to bring a piece of Mae & Co into their own homes.

“It’s a hand-picked collection of pieces we’ve discovered and fallen in love with over the years. People constantly ask me for the details of the pieces and products I feature in my projects. That’s where the idea was sparked. I wanted to make it easy for my community to find and purchase the pieces they see within my work.”
