Food, music, art, and birthday treats in Islington
Sukimama is celebrating one year down the laneway in Islington with a relaxed Saturday birthday party filled with food, music, art, and a few sweet surprises.
On Saturday, June 20, Sukimama will mark its first birthday with small gifts, Korean rice cakes, mochi, vinyl, and a live set from Honey.
It’s been one year since Sukimama opened down the laneway in Islington, and to celebrate, Suki is inviting the community in for a birthday afternoon.
Running from 11am to 2pm, the celebration will include a small gift with every order placed, plus traditional Korean rice cakes and mochi given away throughout the day until they run out.
The courtyard will be full of food, music, and art, with Dan Phelan playing vinyl and Newcastle-based events brand Honey recording a live set for an hour.
Honey is known for its love of soul, funk, disco, and alternative dance music, creating inclusive spaces that celebrate good tunes, community, and connection.
There’ll also be an art exhibition happening next door at Owens Collective, making it an easy excuse to spend a little extra time in the laneway.
