Since its inception in 2017, Light Years Asian Diner has grown substantially, and for good reason, opening a further two venues, Noosa, and Burleigh Heads, making Newcastle venue no.4 along our country’s beautiful East coast.

With Creative Director Kim Stephen, Managing Director James Sutherland and Executive Chef Robbie Oijvall at the helm each menu is bold, colourful and full of punchy flavour. Expect a collection of share-plate-style food, each with its own unique flavour.

If you're after some menu direction our picks include the 5 Spice Roasted Duck Pancakes and Kingfish Ceviche complete with coconut, chilli, and Kaffir lime; the Cumin Spiced Fried Cauliflower with strange flavour sauce, coconut, dill, mint, crunchy things, and peanuts; and to finish, Vanilla & Coconut Sago with Thai basil strawberries, white chocolate, meringue, raspberry sherbet, and lemon balm.

The vibrant and whimsical space has been created alongside some incredibly talented local businesses including Something More Design, Newcastle Kitchen Magic, and Chapman Upholstery. 

The 150-180 downstairs seating space features lots of colour and plenty of wow factor. Think a muted pastel palette, central palm trees, unique and individual seating arrangement, superb crazy marble flooring, a strong curve theme and so much more.  

Rounding out the full experience – the soundtrack is fun, the lights are dim, and the vibes are always high.
