Over the years, we’ve become so used to talking about and educating ourselves when it comes to what we’re putting on our own skin, but have you ever considered the products that you use on your favourite four-legged friends?

Well, the incredibly talented and passionate team over at Scrubba Body, that is, Josh Lawlor and Jason Moore, did exactly that and decided it was time to put the same time and effort that they do with Scrubba Body into creating a dog-friendly line; Hey Hudson.

“Through Scrubba, we have been banging on about how good natural, plant-based products are for our skin for years now. Hudson, our yellow Labrador, was part of the family, and embarrassingly, we hadn’t even paid attention to what we were putting on his skin. After trying to track down something for him with no luck, we thought, why don’t we just make something,” Josh said.

The idea started boiling back in 2020 with the boys diving into the research and development phase before officially launching at the Olive Tree Christmas Market in November last year, the same spot Scrubba Body was launched in 2016.

Using only the finest ingredients to create 100% all-natural products with an emphasis on plant-based and organic, the Hey Hudson team have carefully curated a range that is formulated with gentle, natural ingredients that are safe for all doggos.

“Our furry friends’ noses and skin are a lot more sensitive than ours, so we needed to make sure we had this absolutely perfect before we even though about it touching a dog.”

The ingredients used in each formula are picked based on three core principles: natural, vegan, and environmentally conscious. There are NO filler ingredients, with every ingredient serving an active purpose.

Hey Hudson currently offering three different ranges of dog grooming products; Sensitive, Calming, and Regular. Each of which promotes the same four products; shampoo, conditioner, cologne, and healing balm, as well as an additional Hemp Seed Oil which is perfect for calming anxious pups.  

“We make everything in our workshop which is out the back of our Scrubba Body store at Westfield Kotara. It was super handy already having a dedicated space and a lot of the equipment that we can use for these products too.”

Being proud dog owners, the name of the pair’s newest business, Hey Hudson is in honour of their late four-legged friend, Hudson.

“We had our pup Hudson for almost 14 years and loved him more than anything. He never really grew out of his puppy phase so depending on what he was doing at the time, we were constantly uttering ‘HEY! Hudson,’ or, ‘HEEEEY Hudson,” or those words in some form. So, him becoming the brand's namesake was the easiest decision we had to make.”
