Junction Fair is encouraging customers to be a NOVA hero this March
International Women’s Day is fast approaching with 8th March less than a week away, and to celebrate this year, Junction Fair is encouraging shoppers to do something a little different and become a NOVA hero.
From 1 March, customers can create a care package for women impacted by domestic violence. This is how it works,
- Collect a bag from the display near Coles
- Fill it with treats to brighten the day of a woman in need
- Take your donation to The Essential Ingredient
The local charity supports women and children in crisis, and this year Junction Fair wants your help to give all women the opportunity to grow this International Women’s Day.
“The women and children we support often leave domestic violence situations with nothing more than the clothes on their backs…if you’re not sure what to buy, why not buy them a gift voucher? It doesn’t have to be expensive, whatever you can afford is always appreciated,” Wendy Pinch from Nova Women and Children explained.
To make things all that much easier for you, we’ve created a list of care package and treat ideas to suit any budget. From personal grooming products and delicious chocolates to gift vouchers or a manicure; no matter what it is, it’s sure to surprise and delight the women of NOVA.
Under $20
Keep it nice and simple and put together a package filled with all the essentials. Head to Terry White Chemmart at Junction Fair and put together a goodie bag of your choosing; here are some of our suggestions.

Give the gift of a tasty treat and purchase a Doughheads gift voucher. For $20, your gift recipient could treat themselves to a two-pack of Doughhies plus two coffees.

Whether it’s a box of three Soaps and a Face Cloth, a box filled with Deodorant, Lip Balm, and a bar of Soap, or an indulgent jar of Hand Cream paired with a Soap bar; anything from Savant Apothecary is sure to bring joy.
Feel good about giving women across Newcastle a fresh start or something to look forward to and treat them to those luxury items they may not necessarily be able to afford and give them a little joy throughout the month of March.
In addition to Junction Fair’s partnership with NOVA, the centre will be celebrating International Women’s Day on Monday 8th March by giving away some treats of their own to shoppers between 11am and 2pm. Simply look out for Junction Fair’s brand ambassador at the display in front of Coles; you could score a free Cocoa Nib bonbon or a mini Doughheads Doughnut, but it’s strictly while stocks last!
Junction Fair’s go-to shoe shop, Easy Living Footwear, is also doing their part this International Women’s Day by donating $5 from every sale of Cabello shoes to Nova between 1-23 March.
Meanwhile, The Essential Ingredient Newcastle has generously donated an intimate cooking class to Nova For Women and Children so that four lucky women can enhance their skills to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner on a budget, without sacrificing on flavour.
