Mim is the maker of the amazing Macrame you might have seen in Abicus, Scout, at one of our favourite markets, or you may have seen Mim knotting away on the Westfield rooftop…..
the lady and her work is everywhere!
In addition to Visual Merchandising and her Macrame business, Mim Concepts
Mim can now add Colour Consulting to her ever growing creative repertoire. Partner Kristy, an accountant and one of the owners and a founder at Growthwise
on Darby St, admits she is the complete opposite to Mim prefering to take a more practical approach to life. You may also notice that Kristy is pregnant
in the above photo, the lovely couple is expecting their first bub in February.
I love meeting couples like this, because my house is the same! Personally, I live metaphorically through my work because no-one at home really cares
about the finer detail of my beautiful finds. “But what do you do with it?” “That’s not the way it goes?” “Yeah mum, it’s beauti-ful but what’s for
dinner” Ha. Don't tell them, but they are my greatest teachers. They help me keep the balance.
Back to Mim and the point I wanted to make is, when creative and practical meet it can be so perfect for creating incredibly beautiful and functional
Mim and Kristy bought their Mt Hutton home 3 and a half years ago and have been busy making it their own. They have rebuilt the bathroom and have styled
it to perfection.
“To decorate our home we’ve kept with a careful balance of warm and cool neutrals as a calm palette which we can layer and change over as our tastes
evolve without having to make too many changes to large decorator items. There is a real mix of styles…retro, Scandinavian, industrial and modern…however,
having that neutral palette creates unity and is a colour that we can live with at all times,” Mim explained.
Scandinavian, industrial and modern perfection.
Mim was here.
I love this lamp….and the G….and the beautiful leather tray!
Mim's office and workspace, where the magic happens.
