At home with Joel aka Barefoot & Bearded Photography
Oh, if these two could bottle their energy and zest for life! It is truly incredible and infectious.
Welcome to the Hamilton home of Joel, Bec and Taj. There are hugs on arrival – I love that.
Joel and Bec bought their family home in January 2016, with little Taj arriving just a few months later. Since then Joel has started two businesses (yes,
two). With Bec entering a new field of study it was a big year and, more surprisingly, they still have oodles of energy to burn.
A former school counsellor, Bec is now training to become a celebrant whilst juggling motherhood.
Joel, an incredibly talented and well known photographer, is the founder of Barefoot and Bearded, and Anteloping. Barefoot and Bearded is a boutique and intimate wedding photography business while Anteloping specialises in adventurous wedding elopements. With weddings ranging from the most stunning NZ mountain weddings to Bush Doofs and Wedsitvals! Genius.
Much of this week’s House Perv has nothing to do with the house or interiors … and yet, everything to do with them. Together, Joel and Bec have created a little house of love.
Joel shares the most romantic story of when he first saw Bec. One day while he was working at Merewether’s Surfhouse Kiosk, Bec was enjoying breakfast.
It literally was a case of love at first sight. Joel thought she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. So love-struck, he discreetly called
his workmates out to admire her.
Soon after, Bec again visited the cafe this time accompanied by a man (her cousin, unbeknown to Joel) and the besotted waiter's heart immediately sank.
After leaving the kiosk, Bec’s cousin returned to hand Joel a penned note with a message from a similarly impressed admirer.
“Call my cousin – she thinks you’re cute.” The couple has since spent every day together – laughing, loving, dreaming and creating.
Their beautiful romance sees Joel and Bec eloping to Tasmania in May.
Enjoy perving inside the home of this lovely family.
The period curved architraves make this space, plus the gorgeous family!
Such a great idea for storing children’s books.
