Think of yourself as a bit of a coffee connoisseur? Do you love visiting beautiful new cafe spaces in Newcastle? Well, it’s your lucky day! Newcomer, New Slang Coffee Brewers has recently opened up on Hunter Street with some serious skills in the coffee department.
The couple behind New Slang, Alaric and Sara, have created a one-of-a-kind space that will be letting your jaw drop to the floor. Sara’s designed the entire space from colour combos to light fixtures to even designing the logo; btw how quirky is the logo!?!? Alaric sure does know his coffee, but he’s also proved to be pretty handy on the tools, working alongside his dad to really bring the space together and even working on the custom-made Tasmanian Oak counter.
Brought to us by the team at Unison Coffee Roasters, New Slang is obviously going to pack a punch when serving up our daily coffee fix. Born from over a decade of experience in the coffee world, Alaric has been developing his knowledge for coffee since the get-go to now opening up their very first cafe!
“Our unquenchable thirst for fresh seasonal coffees and new techniques of roasting is what makes Unison a premium supplier of specialty coffee in Newcastle.”
Serving up both espresso based and filter specialty coffee, so all you coffee loving people will be well looked after; no bias!
With a focus on coffee, the brunch menu is kept simple whilst maintaining peak yumminess. Our pick is the smashed avo on sourdough, topped with edamame, savoury granola, pickled fennel and served with their house-made labneh. Or pick up some bircher muesli for brunch with a seasonal fruit compote and a side of Greek yoghurt. If a small lunch is what you’re after, get your hands on their ham or mushroom toastie; paired perfectly with their house-made lemon and mint soda, YUM!
Maybe you want to treat yourself to a naughty goodie? These guys bake their own brownies; super fresh and fudgy and ready to be eaten!
Designed by Specht Design, the eye-catching coffee machine will be sure to serve up your coffee with a difference. Oh, and be sure to say hello to the smiley barista behind the machine, Sam.
Sitting diagonally opposite NewSpace, New Slang is situated in the heart of all the happenings in the city centre. So, get along and check out Newcastle’s newest specialty coffee serving stop.
