It’s not news that the people of Newcastle are big fans of their coffee. Specialty coffee spots keep popping up all over town, new coffee roasters are making themselves known, and countless cafes scatter in our city’s backstreets.

Sometimes, you just need a coffee on the go. What better way to do so than getting a cup of joe from the many coffee vans situated across our beautiful city.

The Bondwood

This pumping coffee hotspot outside the entrance to Adamstown Bowling Club always has a queue of locals lining up for their daily dose of caffeine. With specialty coffee, gourmet toasties, the ever-so popular acai bowl, pastries, smoothies and so much more – The Bondwood has all bases covered.

Between Kings & Queens

A little hidden, Between Kings & Queens has been serving up their delicious coffee goods since June 2020. Not just serving up blooming good coffee, you might be able to pick up some freshly baked sourdough and baguettes (get in early, they sell out fast), cold brew and even sparkling juice.

The Globetrotter Coffee Bar

The Globetrotter Coffee Bar has been calling Bar Beach Bowling Club’s carpark home since 2018 and continues to be a crowd favourite. Stop off for a coffee after your morning walk along the beach.

Wild Vine Coffee

The vintage 1968 Franklin caravan sits in the backstreets of Adamstown and is a little hidden gem. Serving up Padre Coffee, Wild Vine Coffee will have you sipping on your brew as you chill out on the AstroTurf.

Harry’s Cafe de Wheels 

The iconic Harry's Cafe de Wheels on Wharf Road might be known for their pies, sausage rolls, and pasties but they’re also serving up coffees to those wandering by.

Jimmy’s at The Esplanade

Jimmy's at The Esplanade is serving up coffee from Sprocket Roasters alongside hot pies, toasties, milkshakes and plenty of sweet treats. Transforming Trevor from an original 1980s Viscount caravan to a fully functional coffee van, owners Mal and Julianne are excited for you to drop by and enjoy a coffee with some of the best views of the lake!

Bessie Brown Retro Coffee Cart

Available for hire, the Bessie Brown Retro Coffee Cart trike brings a unique flair to the typical coffee cart or van. You might find this colourful vintage-esque darling at local fairs and markets or even at your next corporate or private event.

Retro Kombi Co.

Another favourite coffee van known to frequent our many local fairs and markets is none other than Retro Kombi Co. The van is also available for hire for private events. Make sure you check out the crew's side hustle, The Gnarly Bus.

Karma Coffeehouse

This roaming coffee trailer can be found popping up all over the shop anywhere from the Central Coast out to Maitland. Keep up with their wanderings by following them on Instagram here.

Bootleg Bakery

Bootleg Bakery off-the-beaten-track cafe where there's fine coffee, freshly baked pastries and a place for our four-footed friends. There's also beautiful Henderson Park just across the road where you can relax under the trees and let the kids roam free.

Fat Crema

All about serving quality caffeine on wheels, Fat Crema is a small pop-up cafe that can be found at locations around Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and beyond.

Rise n Shine Espresso Bar

Rise n Shine Espresso Bar is slinging coffees every morning in Cameron Park on George Booth Drive, right at the traffic lights.

Billycart Coffee 

Situated at Lake Macquarie Airport, coffee drinkers can get their caffeine hit at Billycart Coffee before an adrenaline rush with Skydive Australia or a joy flight with Matt Hall Racing. 

Darks Coffee Roasters

More shipping container than van, Darks Coffee Roasters' spot at McDonald Jones Stadium is always popular. Roasted just down the road in Mayfield West, Trent and Adam (the team behind Darks) take their coffee very seriously, so you know it's the good stuff.

Arlo's Coffee Caravan

Located in Merewether, Arlo's Coffee Caravan serve up Allpress Espresso coffee plus a range of eats like acai bowls, waffles and toasties. 

Revival Coffee Co.

You can find the Revival Coffee Co. van at various markets around Newcastle. The van is also available to hire for weddings, birthdays, sporting events and more!
