Amanda’s on the Edge

Amanda's on the Edge feels like a country home where everyone is welcome. Bistro Molines

A Hunter Valley institution, Bistro Molines is brought to you by the husband and wife team of Robert and Sally Molines. Bistro Molines is French-inspired, rustic yet sophisticated, and boasts not only one of the best menus in the Hunter Valley but enviable views of the Mount View region. It's also racked up plenty of chef hats as part of the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide over the years, so you know you can expect an elegant dining experience.

Boydell’s Cellar Door & Restaurant

Dining at Boydell’s offers a relaxed yet sophisticated experience, with the interiors flowing seamlessly from cellar door to dining space. Start off with a wine tasting in the cellar door, then eat lunch or dinner in the restaurant. Located in a historic slab hut in Morpeth, it's an atmospheric spot to enjoy locally-sourced, seasonal produce that's handled with care by Boydell's talented team.

Circa 1876

Before you even set foot into the cottage that is Circa 1876, you get the feeling that you're in for something a little bit special. Circa 1876 is the perfect example of the farm-to-fork ethos, with its menu featuring fresh local seasonal produce, most of which is from the onsite organic kitchen garden. Expect modern Australian cuisine presented in one of the most stunning buildings in wine country.

The luxurious Spicers Guesthouse in Pokolbin is where you’ll find the equally luxe dining experience that is éRemo Restaurant. A destination in itself, éRemo Restaurant showcases modern Italian cuisine that connects diners with some of the region's best local producers. The menu is complemented by a very extensive and well-travelled wine list, including some of the Hunter Valley’s best vintages and a selection of those from further afield.

Esca Bimbadgen

As you enter Esca at Bimbadgen, you can see that the restaurant has taken full advantage of its hilltop views, which makes for lovely vistas while you dine. Enjoy a seasonal menu separated into the sections From the Garden, From the Land, From the Sea, and Cheese & Dessert. You can choose from three to five courses, and even add on a wine-matched experience featuring six premium Bimbadgen wines.

EXP. Restaurant

This Hunter Valley restaurant is bringing something a little different to the table. EXP. Restaurant has introduced us to a new way of dining that is experimental (gaining one chef hat along the way) and we can't get enough. Preferring to steer away from the typical entrée, main, and dessert formula, EXP. offers a Tasting Menu, allowing guests to experience a wide range of stunning flavours all in one sitting.

Traditional Italian cuisine meets modern flair at Fratelli Roma. From fresh antipasto to handmade pasta, this family-owned restaurant offers a taste of Italy in the heart of Maitland. Elegant and sophisticated, the food, service, and views are all spectacular at Hunters Quarter. Located at Pooles Rock Vineyard, Hunters Quarter is a Hunter Valley must-visit. With an a la carte menu, a five-course degustation, an even a vegan three-course menu, everyone is catered for at Hunters Quarter. All of its dishes are so artfully-presented too that they look too good to eat – but we don't think it will take too long for you to dive in!

Margan Restaurant

The menus at Margan Restaurant have been crafted around the harvest from the onsite one-hectare kitchen garden. The property also has its own olive trees, free-range chickens, and beehives, and raises all of its own lambs – all of which are incorporated into the menus. It's farm to table dining at its very best, consistently recognised with one chef hat by the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide.

Muse Kitchen Hunter Valley

Located in the picturesque Keith Tulloch Wines courtyard, Muse Kitchen offers a relaxed yet sophisticated dining experience that continues to wow locals and visitors year after year. Offering European bistro-style cuisine, Muse Kitchen focuses on local ingredients in its cooking, resulting in a menu that showcases the best produce of the season. The dishes aren't overcomplicated – think roasted octopus with chickpeas, peppers, and toum, or aged striploin with aligot, aniseed, and blueberry – rather they're stunning in their simplicity.

Muse Restaurant

For a truly exquisite one-of-a-kind dining experience, you must book a table at Muse Restaurant. The brainchild of the ever-so-humble kitchen mastermind, Troy Rhoades-Brown, this iconic dining institution has been the go-to for special occasions for both locals and visitors since its inception in 2009. Oak and Vine Restaurant

Oak and Vine Restaurant is a surprising gem in the Hunter Valley. Located at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort, it isn't necessarily the first place you might think of to dine in wine country, but Oak and Vine Restaurant is totally unique to the region. Expect Sri Lankan fine dining led by chef Vinura de Silva (with a full vegetarian menu so no one has to miss out) paired with a small but hyper-local wine list. All the dishes are bursting with flavour, often in unexpected ways, making for an exciting dining meal.

The Gates Restaurant

Take a seat at one of the Hunter Valley’s most spectacular dining experiences – The Gates Restaurant at Leogate Estate. Situated at Brokenwood Wines in Pokolbin, The Wood Restaurant serves contemporary Australian cuisine with a strong focus on using local produce. Yellow Billy Restaurant

Yellow Billy Restaurant is named for a local gentleman bushranger in the 1800s named William White, AKA Yellow Billy. Having cooked over fire and foraged for food, this bushranger inspired the ethos of Yellow Billy Restaurant, where a custom-built fire pit is used to cook its outstanding food, imparting each dish with the unique flavour of cooking over flames.
