A sunset music session at Newcastle Baths
One of the mos memorable events from New Annual 2025 was SOAK: Live at the Baths, which transformed Newcastle Ocean Baths into a stage for sunset music sessions.
With the sun setting in the back, across five unforgettable evenings, Newcastle Baths showcased an impressive lineup of local talent and internationally celebrated artists.
Saturday 27 September
The series launches on Saturday, September 27 with dust, the Newcastle-born post-punk five-piece making waves on the global indie rock scene. Fresh from performances at London’s Pitchfork Festival and SXSW, plus sold-out shows at King Street Band Room, they’re tipped as the “next big thing.” Supporting them is Limo, an all-female post-punk outfit bringing raw energy to the stage.
Sunday 28 September
On Sunday, September 28, music and environmental storytelling meet in a collaboration exploring water conservation. Audiences will experience the genius of world-renowned beatboxer Tom Thum, alongside Filipino and Murrawarri artist DOBBY and acclaimed jazz composer Freyja Garbett. Individually their work highlights the value of water, but together, their performance promises something extraordinary.
Thursday 2 October
Fans of ACOTAR won’t want to miss Thursday, October 2, when global sensation and pop violinist Joel Sunny creates a spellbinding seaside performance that feels truly otherworldly.
Friday 3 October

With a live band and string section, this powerhouse collective delivers an unforgettable fusion of soul, R&B, and hip hop as the sun sets over the ocean.
