An elevated piercing experience launches in Cooks Hill
The bespoke jewellery space on Bull St, Artefact has recently launched their newest offering which has been patiently awaited by many – Piercings by Artefact.
This elevated piercing experience is so much more than what you might usually expect; rather a considered piercing and ear curation service which involves expert advice, anatomy-dependent styling, and a piercing performed to the highest of standards. The best part? Instead of choosing from a bulky steel stud, you can choose from the Artefact's fine piercing jewellery collection.
“We will offer solid gold fine jewellery made in-house in various designs that the client can be pierced with initially. No more interim studs while you wait for your piercing to heal!”
The offering housed within the walls of a.Atelier gives clients a truly unique experience to not only purchase piercing jewellery designed and made in-house but to have it pierced with and curated right there in their studio.
The process involves Artefact’s piercing manager, Alana, and head professional piercer, Tally, who will work closely together to deliver a truly customisable and unique piercing experience.
The duo both come to the table with a broad range of experience. Tally has over 7 years of experience with extensive qualifications in all areas of piercing, while Alana has expertise in ear curation and styling from her years managing Maria Tash Luxury Piercing in London.
The beautiful space is elevated to ensure clients feel welcome and enjoy their overall piercing experience.
“We have combined the best in sterilisation, experience, health, and safety with a complete luxury feel and high-end jewellery; it’s the absolute best of both worlds and clients no longer have to sacrifice beautiful jewellery for a quality experience, or the other way around.
“After seeing so many people with large cumbersome steel piercing studs that they couldn’t wait to take out, rather than something that was delicate, beautiful, and curated, Amelia [of Artefact] thought of designing a range of piercing specific jewellery that can be worn from day one.
“The idea that piercing had to be an experience that was less than desirable or intimidating, along with the limited options for initial jewellery, we saw this as an opportunity to build a piercing studio which was welcoming and chic, with a beautiful bespoke jewellery line that was specifically designed for initial piercings, and to be worn from thereon out,” Alana shared.
The new offering has been busily forming behind the scenes for the past 12-months with appointments available now with piercing services solely offered on Saturdays for the time being.
“The piercing room and sterilisation room fit-out has been an involved and complex process, as we wanted to ensure that it was all done to the highest standards… the jewellery has also taken time with various designs being trialled and different materials used and worn to test their durability.
“Finally, finding the best team was a long process and we wanted to ensure we had a piercer who came with a high recommendation and experience that spoke for itself. Tally is a dedicated professional with a great passion for the craft and has honed it over many years,” Amelia said.
Always at the forefront of the ever-changing jewellery industry, we’re excited to see Piercings by Artefact take off and be enjoyed by not only Newcastle but eager visitors keen to get their ears curated with bespoke pieces.
“We are beyond thrilled and excited. It’s been a long time in the works, so I’m eager to see how our customers are going to react and embrace this new service. It’s a truly unique experience that the customers can engage with the jeweller, the piercer, and the stylist in one space.”
In addition to this already very exciting new service, the Artefact team has also just launched their ‘Ode Events’, an extension of their already popular Ode Welded Chains but for group bookings. The perfect gathering for a fun event, birthday, Christmas party, or bridal shower.
“This is a really unique and fun way to celebrate, honour or thank your loved ones, friends, or colleagues, especially heading into the gifting season. You can email us at [email protected] for more information and package outlines.”
Speaking of the gifting season, the team is soon to drop a new jewellery collection in the lead-up to Christmas, so if you’re on the lookout for a new piece or just love adding to your collection, keep an eye on their Instagram for the launch!
