The Central Coast boutique clothing brand finds second home in Newcastle
Back in 2014, the Central Coast was home to the launch of what is now one of Australia’s most successful fashion labels, Bohemian Traders. Now, almost ten years later, Newcastle’s Darby St has been graced with its very own storefront.
Brought to us by Central Coast locals and fashion extraordinaires, Emily and David Berlach, Bohemian Traders has skyrocketed onto the Aussie fashion scene with its classic European cuts for the modern bohemian.
The brand has gone from strength to strength with new collections dropping frequently and finally, after years of yearning for the Central Coast brand to set up shop here in Newcastle, come May last year, we finally got Bohemian Traders opening on Darby Street.
“Newcastle is such a bustling city, we’ve been keen to have a store here for some time. We love the feel of Newcastle and could see the opportunities expanding as the city revitalises and reinvents itself.
“There is a great vibe on the Darby Street strip, good restaurants and great boutiques in close proximity, and a stone’s throw away from the beach. What’s not to love,” Emily shared.
The Darby Street boutique has had a slight facelift from what was there originally, but the Bohemian Traders have big plans for the space over the coming months with a big transformation to be unveiled before the end of the year.
For those new to the Bohemian Traders label, expect an extensive collection of classic yet fashioned-forward pieces for the ‘modern bohemian.’ From humble beginnings to an internationally recognised brand, we asked Emily, can you believe business is as good as it is?
“Ha, the honest answer is ‘no’ but we’ve always had a big vision for Bohemian Traders and its continued success is something we delight in. The brand truly has exceeded most of our original expectations (both in the highs and the lows).”
With renovations set for later this year, an ongoing update to the brand's collections, the aim to always move towards strengthening sustainability practices, and their unwavering dedication to inclusivity, Bohemian Traders on Darby Street is here to stay and we couldn’t be more excited.
