Five years after opening its doors, Wickham St Studios is stepping into a new era.

What began as a small neighbourhood Pilates studio has grown into a thriving community where locals come not just to move their bodies, but to find routine, connection and a little reset in their week.

Five years in, what’s the biggest lesson they’ve learned about running their own business?

The sisters say the biggest lesson learned along the way is that their community and connection is what really matters. The studio will continue to be grounded and supported by that.

“We have members who came to our very first open day who are still with us today” Aish said.

The studio has stayed true to their foundation of Pilates and yoga, and over the five years their fitness timetable has grown and evolved to keep with their fun and fresh exercise ethos.

Wickham St Studios offers a staple range of strength, stretching, and full-body movement classes across up to 50 sessions a week, running morning and night, seven days a week.

The newest addition to the studio is their infrared room - currently the only studio in Newcastle offering hot mat and reformer classes under the one roof—with heated mat Pilates and yoga sessions that really get the blood pumping.

Satisfyingly sweaty and perfect for the colder months

Pilates, yoga or barre are perfect for slotting into busy routines and are “sustainable positive options that are super adaptable” says Sinead.

For the colourful fanatics, the studio could be your next go to event space for all things photoshoots and workshops. The aesthetic space has been the backdrop of plenty of fantastic events across the years, it’s no surprise with that iconically fun floral wall!
