Newcastle, its time to meet Boogie Bounce
Walking into our first Boogie Bounce class, we’ll admit, we had no idea what we were in for.
A dimly lit room, DJ party lights pumping, and a sea of mini trampolines set the scene. Then the music kicked in, before we knew it, we were sweatin’ it out, and loving every minute.
So what is Boogie Bounce?
It’s a dance-inspired, choreographed workout that uses a mini trampoline and gravity as resistance, giving the classic HIIT format a whole new (very bouncy) dimension.

Led with infectious energy, and some fab disco lights, the class had us moving through fast-paced routines that worked our legs, core, arms, and lungs, without ever feeling punishing on the joints.
What we loved most was how fun it was. It’s a serious workout – NASA even backs rebounding as one of the most efficient forms of exercise – but it doesn’t feel like a grind.
A first of its kind in Newcastle, Jody Croall has led the way with Jody explaining she discovered rebounding over 15 years ago through Jason Vale, the UK’s Juice Master.

Diagnosed with a labrum tear and arthritis in her right hip in 2024, Jody needed a low-impact way to stay active and delay surgery, and rebounding was the answer.
“It was around this time I visited Portugal and spent a week at Jason Vale’s Juicy Oasis, a dream come true, and this reignited my love of rebounding.
“When I returned home, there wasn’t anything like it available in Newcastle, and whilst I thought I could do it on my own, it’s more fun and motivating with others. That’s when I discovered Boogie Bounce.”

“It was founded in the UK by Jenny Belcher, who started rebounding following her own knee rehabilitation. After some research (and courage), I decided to train as an instructor, which was a big leap for me. Being in front of people initially scared the life out of me!! I was sure though, I couldn't be the only person who would love this type of exercise or benefit from it.
“Once I started it became addictive, it's a bit like a night out bouncing around to music but with all the added health benefits. Rebounding has helped me immensely with my perimenopause.”

“I also liked the idea of starting a wee community of fun loving like minded people from all walks of life. Whilst it's only the start, I've found HUGE satisfaction in facilitating something for people that brings them together, gives them joy and has so many amazing benefits physically and mentally.
"I feel very lucky to have discovered this, and I can only hope it helps a few others, even if in only the smallest way. And at 49, I like to think you are never too old to try something new!!"

Whether you’re new to fitness, returning after a break, or just bored of the same old gym routine, this class meets you where you’re at.
