New burger joint opens on Beaumont Street
Newcastle’s very first smashed burger restaurant has arrived on Beaumont Street in Hamilton.
Situated in the former Afghan House spot right in the middle of Beaumont Street, Smashed Burgers is set to bring a new level of burger excellence to Newcastle offering high-quality, and creatively crafted smashed burgers.

The Smashed Umami complete with two juicy smashed beef patties topped with gooey American cheddar, smoky BBQ mayo, savory sauteed mushrooms, a hint of truffle oil, crispy bacon bits, and crunchy fried onions on a soft brioche bun.
The Spicy Jalapeno Ranch Smash with two fiery smashed beef patties with a kick of cayenne, topped with smoky cheddar, fresh jalapeno slices, tangy pickled red onions, and crisp iceberg lettuce, drizzled with cool jalapeno ranch sauce and served on a toasted brioche un.
The Fiery Grilled Chicken with a succulent fire-grilled chicken breast topped with melted cheddar, crisp lettuce, and juicy tomato all complemented by creamy garlic mayo and tangy burger sauce served on a toasted brioche bun.
The Blue Cheese Barramundi featuring a crispy barramundi filet topped with creamy blue cheese spread and tangy ranch sauce, layered with crispy lettuce and pickles, served on a toasted bun.
And our personal favourite, The Hammi – dedicated to Hamilton and made with two juicy beef patties layered with double cheese, crispy rasher bacon, fresh lettuce, tomato, and pickled, crowned with a perfectly fried sunny-side-up egg. All topped with smoky hickory BBQ sauce and signature Smashed Burger BBQ sauce served on a toasted brioche bun.
Whilst the burgers are the obvious standouts on the menu, diners can also get their hands on a selection of loaded fries, chicken ribs, and chicken wings.
Located within the already bustling food and drink scene of Hamilton, Smashed Burger will be open seven days a week, making it a go-to spot for burger lovers and late night eats.
