The Beaumont Street-based wine cellar, Vera Wine, has only been opened a few short months but has already delivered the people of Newcastle a huge variety of different wine styles, unlike anything we’ve seen before.

Engaging with the local community, owners Josh and Florence, have held many a conversation with keen wine drinkers about their unique range of drops, with many, no doubt, being enjoyed around tables with friends at home.

With hopes to encourage more people to sample, enjoy, and hopefully even love their range, the duo has launched FREE weekly wine tastings. Running in-store each and every Saturday, individuals can drop in and taste test from 12pm until the bottles are empty!

“At VERA, we love being able to share our favourite wines with the people of Newcastle. Weekly tastings allow us to showcase new, rare, or obscure bottles and engage with our customers face to face. Tastings are informal but a great environment to learn more about the world of wine for those who are interested.”

There’s no need to book in for these tastings, just pop on down to Beaumont St and head in-store at Vera Wine and see what’s on offer. If you sign up for their e-newsletter, you’ll get the goss ahead of time to find out exactly what’s pouring each week!

“Each week has a different theme, whether that be a region, producer, or wine style. Expect to see local winemakers or Lebanese Pet Nats, to oxidative Jura or classic Bordeaux.”
