Mirosevich brothers, George and Matthew, have done it again, launching their new business, Bare Chefs, on Honeysuckle Drive in Newcastle’s Honeysuckle precinct.

The duo, who you may remember from their premium private catering business, The Bare Chested Chef, have been busily preparing their newest venture, and as of Monday 10 July, locals were invited to come and experience it for themselves.
Bare Chefs is Newcastle’s newest addition to the food scene and has been created with the busy Monday-to-Friday workers in mind.
“We believe there shouldn’t be a trade-off between eating well and eating fast, that’s why we created Bare Chefs.”
A concept that is new to Newcastle, but one that might be well recognised in bigger cities across the globe, Bare Chefs is a fresh approach to the traditional ‘grab n go’ styled dining experience.
“The menu will consist of meals from fruit cups, bircher muesli, wraps, and sandwiches. Our focus will be on our specialty bowls. All food will be prepared, chilled, and packaged with clear re-heat instructions.”
The specialty bowl creations literally offer it all with flavours and dietary requirements catered for including options for gluten-free, nut-free, lactose-free, and vegan.
The launch menu includes dishes such as the Seared Eye Fillet complete with rosemary roasted potatoes, and salsa verde; Slow-Cooked Lamb Shoulder with roast pumpkin, capsicum, golden raisin couscous salad, and tzatziki; Garlic Prawns with steamed rice, Chinese broccoli, crispy shallots, and spiced ginger butter.
Cajun Chicken with steamed kale, boiled egg, avocado, cherry tomato, and parmesan mayonnaise; Roasted Salmon with cauliflower and baby spinach couscous salad, chickpeas, and harissa mayonnaise; Silken Tofu with rice noodles, stir-fried vegetables, and miso dressing; and Clean Chicken with steamed rice, chicken bone broth, and fresh lemon.
“Whilst doing corporate events through The Bare Chested Chef, we realised there was a real hole in the market for quality convenient food. As consumers, we also realised this whilst being on the road travelling to events.”
If you’re after something a little lighter, the Bare Chef’s sandwich and wrap options include Thick Cut Ham with curried egg, mustard pickle, and lettuce (sandwich or wrap); Cajun Chicken with ranch dressing, and lettuce (sandwich or wrap); and Roasted Cauliflower with cucumber, hommus, and tabouli.
Making sure to keep you stocked for the full workday ahead, the display cabinet at the checkout is also stocked with a bunch of slices made by the boys’ mother. Think of flavours like Caramel Slice, Mars Bar Slice, and Honeycomb & Raspberry Cheesecake.
Based on Honeysuckle Drive, right across from Newcastle harbour in the heart of Honeysuckle, the freshly designed space comes complete with a simplified ‘grab n go’ system with a lined wall of fully stocked fridges, small outdoor seating space, and even microwaves available for your own use.
The interiors have been finished to the finest of quality, complete with a green Venetian plaster feature wall, timber paneling, and curved feature, alongside crisp white surfaces and olive trees dotted throughout.
In addition, the Bare Chefs offering extends to corporates with their premium VIP Membership.
“This is going to consist of pre-packaged boxes of Bare Chefs meals, sandwiches, and snacks, ready-made and delivered to your office in your selected time window.”
Whilst this is just the start of the Bare Chefs journey, the brothers have big plans for the business with expansion plans already in motion.
“We wanted to open in Newcastle first as it is close to our hearts. However, we do intend on opening in Sydney in the coming months so we can start servicing our existing clients. Eventually, we would love to make this a nationwide brand so that everyone can have access to quality and convenient food.”
Open every Monday to Friday from 9am-3pm, Bare Chefs invites you in to pick up your daily dose of healthy hearty meals.
