It’s that time of year again – the festive season has arrived, and that means the Christmas Lights Spectacular is back at Hunter Valley Gardens.

This family-favourite event features over four million lights in immersive displays throughout the gardens, and it’s on now right through until Sunday January 28, 2024.

Every night (except Christmas Day) from 5.30pm-10.30pm, the gardens will be illuminated with millions of colourful lights.

Here’s a taste of what you can expect at Christmas Light Spectacular.

Incredible Christmas light displays

With light displays like ‘Fairy Land’, ‘Winter Wonderland’, and ‘Twinkle Tree Trail’, it won’t be hard to get into the festive spirit as you explore the gardens. Watch as the gardens light up in a magical array of colours, with plenty of favourite Christmas characters making an appearance.

Live entertainment

Not only will Hunter Valley Gardens play host to a massive Christmas light display, but there’ll be stacks of entertainment that kids – both big and little – are sure to love.

There’s Christmas-themed stage shows throughout November and December, and January will see performers like Pretty Amazing Jono and Little Scallywagz take to the stage. 

You can also catch roving magic and comedy performers, and even roving larger-than-life Christmas characters in November and December.

Christmas activities

Don’t miss the opportunity to get your family’s Santa photo at the Igloo Marquee, and make sure the kids post their letters to Santa at the Magic Mailbox for express post to the North Pole. 

Amusement rides

Add some extra fun into your visit to the Christmas Lights Spectacular with the Garden’s amusement rides, operating until late each night. 

Get up nice and high on the ferris wheel for the best view over the light displays, take a spin on the teacups, or get the little ones’ adrenaline pumping on the superslide.

It’s $6 per ride, or grab a five pack for $30 and get one ride free.

Food stalls

All that exploring requires sustenance, and luckily Hunter Valley Gardens have got you covered with heaps of meals, snacks, and drinks. 

Think nachos and burrito bowls, Greek food, woodfired pizza, loaded potatoes, burgers, gelato, donuts, churros, and heaps more.
