Shoal Bay Country Club transports you to Greece with their new restaurant offering; Atmos. This new flavour has landed in Port Stephens with Shoal Bay Country Club expanding their dining offering.

The 170-capacity restaurant is the newest addition to the Shoal Bay Country Club precinct, stretching 120m of beachside frontage.

If you’ve missed travelling, Atmos delivers the authentic Greek experience by bringing traditional architecture and the relaxing atmosphere of the Greek islands to Shoal Bay Country Club.

Atmos was designed in Greece by Athenian architects Karagianni Karamali, with many aspects of the fit-out, including traditional render, furniture, and joinery being manufactured in Greece and installed by local trades, Shoal Bay Country Club’s Interior Stylist, Hannah Brady, travelled to Greece in 2020 to source traditional Greek styling elements adding to the authenticity of the build.

“We want our customers to feel like they have been transported to Greece through the Atmos experience; the interiors, tastes, smells, sounds, and ambiance will all evoke the experience of being in the Greek Islands.

“This project has been three years in the making and is the final piece of the puzzle to four years of renovations to the Shoal Bay Country Club precinct,” says Paul Shaw, General Manager of Shoal Bay Country Club.

The Atmos menu promises a social experience centered on shared meals and a relaxing, vibrant atmosphere which has been curated by Shoal Bay Country Club Executive Chef Leonard Faust and Celebrity Chef Phil Davenport.

Large share dishes are a feature of the menu; whole snapper, slow-cooked lamb shoulder, and an open kitchen showcasing a traditional charcoal rotisserie ‘souvla’ BBQ of chicken, pork, and lamb.

Many dishes are generational family recipes customary to the Greek islands including Yiayia’s famous baklava. It will be hard to choose just one dish, so opt for one of the set menus for the full Atmos experience.

“Greek food is simple, uncomplicated, and best enjoyed with family and friends. Historically, Greek cuisine is designed to share, a tradition we encourage at Atmos,” says Phil Davenport.

The drinks list is also an experience in itself. Group Beverage Manager, Brent Tozer, has creatively curated a Greek-inspired cocktail list including a Baklava cocktail and an innovative, Greek twist on the classic Espresso Martini.

There is also an extensive wine list including a vast selection of imported Greek and European wines, plus many local Hunter Valley varietals.
