We all know and love the Bobs Farm-based venue that is known as Murrays. We recently dropped by to hear all about their upcoming plans including a new retail offering, a fine-dining restaurant, an in-house bakery, and more. What are we covering today? None other than the divine Agnes High Tea Pavilion!

That’s right, the go-to watering hole in Port Stephens is so much more than a brewery these days, and with the launch of the Agnes High Tea Pavilion in early December, it’s become even more elevated!

The separate 65-seater space is cosy and intimate designed to enchant and be full of whimsy. With tones of soft mint green and deep hues of eggplant and soft blush colours; think Mad Hatter Tea Party meets the Grounds of Alexandria.

“The high tea experience is going to be really special. We’re not just providing Devonshire tea with scones. We’re really trying to give you a five-star hotel experience. Our pastry chef is from Singapore; he’s extremely talented and we’re doing something next level. Nothing is bought in; it’s all made in-house,” Ashleigh shared.

Booking your spot at High Tea gives you the opportunity to choose between three different options: one for sparkling ($75pp), one for French champagne ($85pp), and one for a cocktail degustation ($125pp).

“The cocktail degustation High Tea tells the spirit journey of Murray’s. Each course will be matched to a cocktail and a different spirit of ours. One will be vodka-based, one will be gin-based, and one will be with our Darkside coffee liqueur, you’ll really be able to experience the distillery journey of Murray’s.”

Agnes High Tea Pavilion will be offering three separate menus appropriate for that particular time of day and changing seasonally. Starting with the Breakfast High Tea that will feature dishes such as Scrambled Egg Tarts with Caviar, fruit scones, and fruit-based tarts.

Onto the lunch menu, you’ll find the High Tea offering just that little more elevated where you can expect delicious goodies including an Eel & Caviar Tart, Gourmet Sausage Rolls, Quiches, and Finger Sandwiches.

Lucky last, the afternoon will feature your classic High Tea offering. Each serving a range of 20 different teas from Sydney-based brand, The Rabbit Hole.

“Whether it’s botanical, classic, or Australian native; there will be a tea master leading the tea offering so you’ll get to have that real tea experience.”

Got little ones in tow? Don’t worry, the team at Agnes High Tea Pavilion has thought of everything including a Mini Tea perfect for the kidlets.

The name itself is a nod to the family business’ heritage with Agnes paying homage to the owner, Murray’s grandmother, Agnes.

“You’re coming to visit Murray’s and the extension of Murray, who is the man behind the brand, are the people who influenced him growing up. His grandparents were Scottish and had a lot of quirk about them.

“His grandmother, Agnes, was really fiery, so we won’t serve tap water in the High Tea room because she didn’t drink it. Here at Murray’s, it’s all about the family experience. We want you to come and for it to feel natural and effortless. As much as we want it to be polished and detailed and layered, it’s now about having layered experiences that give you a feeling of warmth and comfort. The beating heart of Murray’s is all about living well and family.”

The space is a dedication to celebrations, whether you want to come in and celebrate a birthday, a hens, a baby shower, even a post or pre-wedding high tea; expect to be wowed in every way possible at Agnes High Tea Pavilion.
