Newcastle's biggest spirits festival returns to Bartholomew's
Spirit lovers, mark your calendars. Newcastle's biggest celebration of whisky, gin, rum, vodka, tequila, and craft spirits is returning to Bartholomew’s this August, bringing together some of Australia's most sought-after distilleries alongside international icons for one spirited afternoon.
The Buffalo Trace Whisky & Craft Spirits Festival returns to Bartholomew's on Saturday August 8, featuring unlimited tastings from more than 100 premium spirits across 30+ vendors.
Since launching in 2019, the Whisky & Craft Spirits Festival has become a sell-out fixture on Newcastle's events calendar, attracting more than 350 guests each year to sample some of the finest spirits from Australia and beyond.
Whether you're a seasoned whisky collector or simply curious to expand your palate, the festival offers the opportunity to explore an impressive lineup of bourbon, whisky, gin, rum, vodka, tequila, and liqueurs all under one roof.

This year's festival is headlined by Buffalo Trace Distillery, one of America's most celebrated bourbon producers. Festival-goers can sample iconic expressions including Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Sazerac Rye Whiskey, and Traveller Whiskey, the acclaimed collaboration between Buffalo Trace and Grammy Award-winning musician Chris Stapleton.

Alongside international heavyweights, local and independent distilleries will also take centre stage. Newcastle's own Earp Distilling Co. will showcase its evolving dark spirits program, while New Zealand whisky producer Scapegrace and Queensland's Burdekin Distillery will also be pouring tastings throughout the day.
Every General Admission ticket includes unlimited tastings, a festival tasting glass, delicious food, and access to all exhibitors and vendors.

For those looking to elevate the experience, the Buffalo Trace VIP Lunch includes early entry from 12pm, a premium lunch experience, festival access, tastings, and exclusive offerings throughout the afternoon. Guests can also book into expert-led masterclasses to gain deeper insight into the stories, techniques, and craftsmanship behind some of the industry's leading brands.
With a convenient Shop Away service allowing guests to purchase their favourite bottles on the day, it's the perfect opportunity to discover your next favourite drop.
