A four-course seafood lunch with Mercer Wines

Customs House is celebrating Newcastle Tuna Festival with a one-off seafood and wine long lunch by the harbour.

On Friday, 24 July, Newcastle Tuna Festival x Mercer Wine Lunch will bring together a four-course seafood-led menu, paired wines, and bubbles on arrival.

Created for one afternoon only, Newcastle Tuna Festival x Mercer Wine Lunch will take over the Harbourmasters Lounge at Customs House for a relaxed afternoon of food and wine.

The long lunch will feature a four-course seafood-led menu showcasing fresh coastal flavours and local produce, with each course thoughtfully paired with Mercer Wines.

Guests will start with freshly shucked Coffin Bay Pacific oysters with finger-lime mignonette, paired with NV Prosecco, before moving into raw Ulladulla tuna with avocado, smoked soy, fermented chilli, and mint.

The menu continues with Mooloolaba king prawn, Customs House fish pie with snapper, prawns, chives, and Dutch potato, plus sides of classic table salad and grilled zucchini.

To finish, guests will enjoy vanilla panna cotta with local oranges and roasted white chocolate, matched with 2025 Late Harvest Semillon.

Seafood Trail Dish

Customs House Hotel is serving Raw Ulladulla Tuna, created by Sean Townsend.

The dish features raw Ulladulla tuna layered with creamy avocado and a smoked soy and chilli dressing, bringing together fresh, smoky, creamy, and gently spicy flavours.

Newcastle Tuna Fest returns in 2026 bringing a bigger, bolder celebration of seafood, local restaurants, and the city’s coastal dining identity. Launching on Sunday, June 28, with the Grand Opening Event, Newcastle Tuna Fest continues throughout July with the festival centering around the Newcastle Seafood Trail, with around 30 participating venues across Newcastle each creating a signature tuna or seafood dish.
