Sip your way through 200+ tastings in Newcastle
If discovering your next favourite wine, spirit, or cocktail sounds like your perfect afternoon, you'll want to clear your calendar this August.
On Saturday, August 1, more than 200 complimentary tastings showcasing regional New South Wales producers and premium international wines are coming to Newcastle for one afternoon only.
Visitors will have access to more than 200 complimentary tastings, with the opportunity to explore boutique wines, craft spirits, RTDs and emerging drinks, meet the makers behind the brands, and purchase directly from exhibitors in a relaxed, professionally curated environment.
Ahead of public entry, The Drink Show will also host an invitation-only Trade Preview, giving hospitality professionals, retailers, distributors and industry buyers the opportunity to meet producers, discover new products and build valuable commercial relationships.
The event celebrates independent producers from across regional New South Wales, complemented by carefully curated portfolio partners representing premium international wines. The line-up also includes Tasmania’s Sanyou Baijiu, Australia’s first and most awarded baijiu brand, crafted using Tasmanian grains and water and traditional Chinese production methods.
Unlike many large-scale drinks festivals, The Drink Show has been designed as a premium tasting experience, with attendance deliberately capped to encourage meaningful conversations between visitors and exhibitors while providing ample time to explore the diverse range of products on offer.

Event organiser Mick Turner said the event was created to connect passionate producers with engaged consumers and industry buyers.
“Regional Australia produces some of the country’s most exciting wines, spirits and innovative drinks, yet many of these brands rarely have the opportunity to showcase their products outside their own regions,” Mr Turner said.
“The Drink Show is about discovery. Whether you’re tasting a boutique Hunter Valley wine, a regional craft spirit or an exciting international wine, every stand offers the opportunity to find something new and meet the people behind the brands.”
Expected to attract visitors from across Newcastle, the Hunter Valley, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, the Central Coast and Sydney, The Drink Show plans to become an annual highlight on Newcastle’s events calendar.
