Newcastle’s ultimate Hunter Valley food and wine experience returns for 2026, bringing the best of Australia’s oldest wine region right into the heart of the city.

On Saturday 26 September, Taste of the Hunter Valley brings award-winning Hunter Valley wines, craft beers, spirits, gourmet food and artisan produce to The Station, alongside live entertainment, tastings and interactive experiences for all ages.

This annual event is a relaxed, family-friendly day out showcasing award-winning Hunter Valley wines, craft beers, spirits, gourmet foods and artisan produce – all in one waterfront location.

It’s designed as an easy way to experience the region without leaving Newcastle, with cooking demonstrations, tastings, entertainment and hands-on activities running throughout the day.

Whether you're a wine connoisseur or just looking for a fun day out, this event is a must-do for anyone who appreciates good food and great company. Come hungry and thirsty, leave happy!

A full day of flavour, music and discovery

Across the event, guests can explore a wide range of wine, beer and spirit stalls, meet producers and sample regional favourites from across the Hunter.

The Discover Stage will host tastings, talks and sessions throughout the day, giving visitors the chance to hear directly from winemakers, brewers and food producers.

Live local music will run across the venue, adding to the relaxed festival atmosphere, while a packed program of food trucks, gourmet cheese, deli and market stalls will ensure plenty of options for grazing throughout the day.

Want to bring the family? Kids will be entertained with activities, lawn games, and a jumping castle, while you wine taste and cosy up at the bar!
