Strummingbird Festival brings country music back to Newcastle

Get ready for the return of Strummingbird this spring, as Newcastle once again goes country with this popular music festival dedicated to the modern sounds of country music.

Returning to Awabakal Country on Saturday, October 17, Strummingbird promises another boot-stomping, guitar-strumming celebration of all things country. As Newcastle’s highly anticipated music event, it brings the city together for a day of incredible tunes and good vibes.

Brought to life by Kicks Entertainment, the powerhouse behind Spilt Milk, and presented in collaboration with Live Nation, Strummingbird continues to blend country music’s rich traditions with a contemporary edge, delivering an unforgettable experience for both old fans and new.

This year’s lineup delivers big names and rising stars alike, headlined by Post Malone and Bailey Zimmerman, alongside fan-favourite Cooper Alan. Joining them are Stella Lefty, Dexter and the Moonrocks, and a stacked roster including Brad Cox, Cam, Cigarettes After Sex, Kaitlin Butts, Noah Rinker, and Sons of the East.

But Strummingbird isn’t just about the music – it’s about the full country experience. Festivalgoers can expect line dancing, smoky BBQs, ice-cold drinks, and a lively sideshow alley complete with a mechanical bull.

Newcastle’s inclusion on the Strummingbird tour – which also stops at Sunshine Coast on October 18 and Ballarat on October 10 – cements Newcastle as a cultural hub.
