It's snowing in the Hunter Valley!
If a trip to the snow isn’t on the cards this winter, Hunter Valley Gardens has the next best thing.
Snow Time in the Garden returns from June 27 to July 26, 2026, bringing a month-long program of snow-themed activities, entertainment, carnival rides, food, and family-friendly experiences to the Hunter Valley.
Just a short drive from Sydney and Newcastle, it’s an easy winter getaway without the price tag of the snowfields.
With the dates falling over the winter school holidays, it’s a great opportunity to take the kids out and enjoy some frosty fun.
What's back in 2026?
Visitors can step into a winter wonderland in the Hunter Valley, with snow play, a real ice skating rink perfect for beginners and pros alike, an ice toboggan, roving characters, live entertainment, and access to the Gardens’ display areas.
→ Mega Snow Play Zone (Open 9:30am – 4:30pm)
→ 45-metre giant Ice Toboggan (Open 10am – 4:30pm)
→ Ice Skating Rink (Open 10am – 4:30pm)
→ Snow Time entertainment
→ Access to the Hunter Valley Gardens display gardens
Carnival Rides
In addition to all the snowy fun, Hunter Valley Gardens’ signature carnival rides will also be open. Ride tickets are sold separately from the ride ticket booth, and include:
→ 25-metre Ferris Wheel
→ Venetian Carousel
→ Swing Chairs
→ Take a ride on the Superslide. Once won't be enough!
Roving Performers
Snow Time activities run daily from 10 am – 4:30 pm, with last entry to Snow Time at 3:00 pm. At different times of the day, look out for roving performers, including: Polar Bear, Mr Abominable Snowman, Penguin, Glacier Guy, DJ Jeff’s Glacial Grooves in the Ice Skating Rink and Abominable Adventure to free the Frozen Yeti.
Eats & Drinks
After all the action, warm up with a delicious and massive range of food and drinks including: Woodfired pizza, nachos, dumplings, hot chocolate, burgers, toasties, waffles, churros, fairy floss, crepes and more!
