Mayfield’s free community event is coming back this October
Mark your calendars Newcastle, Mayfield Day is back this October and it’s bigger than ever. Now in its fifth year, the annual community celebration returns to Dangar Park.
Hosted by the Mayfield Business Improvement Association (BIA) in partnership with the City of Newcastle, the free family-friendly event promises a day full of fun on Saturday, October 24 from 10am - 3pm.
Since its inception in 2022, Mayfield Day has become a beloved date on the community calendar – a chance for locals to come together and experience the unique character of this thriving inner-city suburb.
This year’s move to Dangar Park marks an exciting new chapter for the event, bringing fresh energy and more space to accommodate its ever-growing popularity.
This year’s edition will feature a packed program of live music, special performances, interactive workshops, and hands-on activities for all ages. Whether you’re chasing face painting and games for the kids or simply looking to soak up the atmosphere with a coffee in hand, there’s a little something for everyone.
Local businesses will be front and centre with showcase stalls set up throughout the park, while an impressive selection of food trucks and market vendors will serve up an irresistible mix of global cuisines.
Visitors can expect Aussie BBQ favourites, carnival snacks, Turkish gozleme, Belgian waffles, French crepes, cinnamon donuts, ice cream, and plenty more food surprises on the day.
“We loved Mayfield Day, it’s just so great to see families enjoying Mayfield and all that we have to offer as a suburb,” Aaron Buman, Chair of Mayfield Business Improvement Association said.
