Comedy about keeping it together, just barely
Newcastle Comedy Festival is putting local and emerging comedy talent in the spotlight with Doing Great (Considering), a three-act lineup show about keeping it together through life’s quietly absurd, unhinged moments.
On Sunday, 2 August, Doing Great (Considering) will bring Huw Rogers, Scott Fowler, and Brandon Duff to Newcastle Comedy Club for a night of sharp stand-up, offbeat storytelling, and playful musical comedy.
Featuring award-nominated breakthrough acts and RAW Comedy competition finalists, Doing Great (Considering) highlights the next wave of performers carving out their place in Australian stand-up.
Huw Rogers
Among the lineup is Newcastle’s Huw Rogers, winner of the 2026 RAW Comedy competition heat, who went on to represent the region at the NSW State Final.
Drawing from his lived experience with blindness, Rogers uses dry, tightly constructed humour to poke fun at himself, social mishaps with strangers, and the everyday ironies of a sighted world.
Scott Fowler
He’ll be joined by north coast comedian Scott Fowler, whose deadpan and observational style turns personal disasters and small victories into sharp social commentary.
Brandon Duff
Completing the lineup is Central Coast’s Brandon Duff, a 2026 RAW Comedy National Finalist known for charismatic musical comedy and punchlines that sit somewhere between cheeky and edgy.
