Basque seafood and Spanish varietal wines

Harrisons is joining Newcastle Tuna Fest this July with a one-off seafood dinner celebrating Southern Bluefin Tuna and Basque-style cooking.

On Thursday, 16 July, Basque Style Seafood Night will bring five seafood-focused courses and matched Spanish varietal wines to Harrisons.

Created as part of Newcastle Tuna Fest, Basque Style Seafood Night will explore traditional and modern takes on Basque-style seafood.

The one-off dinner will showcase Southern Bluefin Tuna alongside a broader celebration of seafood, with each course designed to highlight bold flavours, quality produce, and the coastal dining spirit of the festival.

Guests will enjoy five courses paired with a premium match of Spanish varietal wines, featuring a mix of local and imported bottles. Tickets are $175 per person and include the full five-course menu with matched wines.

Seafood Trail Dish

Harrisons is serving Yellow Fin Tuna, created by Jung Woo Lee.

The dish features yellowfin tuna dressed in a bold puttanesca with sweet peperonata and burnt cara cara orange, bringing together bright, savoury, and citrus-forward flavours.

Dinner: Wednesday–Saturday, 5:30pm–10pm
Lunch: Friday–Sunday, 12pm–2:30pm

 

Newcastle Tuna Fest returns in 2026 bringing a bigger, bolder celebration of seafood, local restaurants, and the city’s coastal dining identity. Launching on Sunday, June 28, with the Grand Opening Event, Newcastle Tuna Fest continues throughout July with the festival centering around the Newcastle Seafood Trail, with around 30 participating venues across Newcastle each creating a signature tuna or seafood dish.
