Since reopening to plenty of hype in December last year, The Beach Hotel in Merewether has quickly become a dining and drinking hotspot once again.

We suspect the hype is only going to keep growing, because The Beaches has announced that bands are back at the pub with its new live music series Homegrown. 

It's certainly kicking off with a bang – the first headliner is none other than two-time ARIA award winners Lime Cordiale. 

The indie duo will be supported by Lola Scott, and DJ Matt Shepherd will be kicking on after the gig.

Homegrown will celebrate the best of live Aussie music and put the spotlight on local musicians from around Newcastle and the Hunter region each Thursday.

Once a month, Homegrown will host an epic gig headlined by one of Australia's biggest acts, leading the charge in championing Newcastle's place in the Australian live music scene.
