Not only does Meg’s Kitchen Dungog do picnic and other takeaway foodie packs but they do a mean weekday breakfast and lunch! Located in the old bar of the Royal Hotel Dungog are two amazing chefs who are cooking up a storm.

Megs and Hayley have been working together for 4 years and have really embraced the Dungog work-life - opening just a few months ago in November, 2020.

There is a focus on locally sourced ingredients to ensure freshness and support the community. They are also doing their best to reduce waste and consider the environment - such as offering their Kombucha and house-made flavoured soda waters in reusable glass containers. These are available in takeaway and they offer a 50 cent refund to return them next time you’re there.

We visited for breakie and were met with a banquet of sweet and savoury pastries, homemade sausage rolls, frittatas, and lots of other goodies. It took us what felt like a year to choose which one of the many mouth-watering options we were going to commit to, but the winners were the maple pumpkin, blue cheese, and fetta Danish and the chilli jam baked egg, and chorizo breakfast Danish that came fresh straight out of the oven. They were absolutely delicious!
