Located on Lambton’s Elder St, Kim Pigott’s cosy Sobelle Living, opened their doors in June 2016, and is home to a range of beautiful pieces. Boasting
an eclectic mix of unique quality homewares, gifts, jewellery, women’s fashion, baby products galore and much more at an affordable price.
“I felt that the area was changing, and a lot of younger people were coming in to the community and needed something a bit different and funky. I saw there was a lot of talented local artists around and I wanted to showcase their work and really support local artisans,” Kim told me.
The name, Sobelle, has a double meaning. Originally named after her two daughters, Sophie and Isabelle, it is also translated into ‘So Beautiful’ in French.
“Calling the shop Sobelle was such a big decision. My two daughters are Sophie and Isabelle, and after coming up with a lot of different names that just weren’t quite right, I realised Sobelle in French actually meant ‘so beautiful,’ and I just wanted everyone to walk into the store and say, oh this is so beautiful! And they do.”
Creating a business that not only supports local artisans, Kim and the team at Sobelle Living want to ensure that customers feel welcome the second they walk through the door.
“We offer personalised service to everyone to make their experience special.”
The cosy store might be small in size, but it sure does pack a punch with an incredibly unique mix of products, and Kim proudly supports an array of well-known local brands such as; Willow by the Sea, Fleurette, Mint Scrubs and much more.
Sobelle Living really does have everything you could possibly need and makes for the perfect place to find a gift for that really hard to buy for person, and they even offer complimentary gift-wrapping.
With a strong focus on ethically-sourced and sustainable products, Sobelle Living is passionate about bringing shopping back to basics, really slowing down and investing in stunning products.
“Our stock is organic, natural, handmade and not mass produced, containing no nasty chemicals and also made in an environmentally friendly process and using Fair Trade.”
