Brought to us by adopted local Kate Townsend, Pillie Pooches (previously named Pillie Designs) was launched in late 2019 following a life-long love for dogs and want to support women in business.

“We bought a very sweet, sassy, and wiggly liver spot Dalmatian three years ago. Since then, she has absolutely changed our lives and we now have a pack of three, soon-to-be-four dogs! We absolutely love dogs and that, combined with the ability to support women in business has been what’s made our business such a wonderful journey,” Kate shared.

Only being in business for a few short years, and over the period of the ever-evolving pandemic, Pillie Pooches has gone from strength to strength. Originally working outside of her home office, the brand slowly took on more and more work and are now located in a Wallsend studio with four staff!

“It really is a pinch-me moment, because we’ve been able to achieve so much in such little time.”

“We solely offer handmade products… it’s unusual to see handmade businesses make it to this level but we have been able to through really pushing the boundaries to help people see the flow-on effect of supporting local.”

The local brand aims to keep things as local as possible buying their fabrics from a small fabric business as well as getting their own designs printed in a factory in Melbourne. They’ve also recently joined forces with a Melbourne-based designer to bring a future collection of Australian designed and printed fabrics to their product offering which we can’t wait to see drop!
