How good is bed? Sometimes, there is nothing better than curling up in bed with a good book and a cup of tea. But there is one thing that can make it better… linen!

We’ve recently come across Newcastle’s newest online lifestyle store, MARMALADE, and it’s got us adding products to a cart quicker than we can say online shopping!

Brought to us by local couple, Liz and Walker, MARMALADE, was launched early this year back in February and has been gracing us with some of the most incredible pieces of linen bedding and uniquely designed beach umbrellas since!

Whilst the new brand, MARMALADE, is taking locals and linen lovers further afar by storm, you might just recognise the duo from past local favourite businesses including the cacti gurus from The Prickle Shed and long-time plant enthusiasts over at Plant Life Newcastle.

The eco-conscious lifestyle brand packs a punch with affordable luxury homewares and other products the couple are passionate about. After a few years doing their thing with their green thumb-based businesses, the duo were on the lookout for something new.

“We spotted a space in the market for amazing quality, affordable, and sustainable products. So, we decided to reinvent ourselves and create a brand that we are equally as passionate about but less physically intensive.

“Chronic pain has unfortunately disrupted our lives and instead of wallowing in pity, adapting and evolving seemed a much better option! Building up this new ‘brand baby’ of ours has been a great distraction,” Liz shared.

So, what exactly is MARMALADE?

It’s an eco-conscious brand brought to us by Newcastle-based couple with all products proudly designed right here in Aus. Whilst the business grows, so will the product range, but for now, shoppers can get their hands on their range of 100% French Flax Linen Bedding, available in four hues and Beach Umbrellas!

The linen bedding is available as full sets that include a fitted sheet, duvet cover, and two standard pillowcases or can be purchased individually. Current colour options include rouge, fog, oat, and my personal favourite, terracotta!

The Beach Umbrellas will be keeping you easily spottable on any beach come this summer. The fabric is made from recycled plastic bottles and beechwood for the poles (with Zinc hardware). The waterproof canopy spans two metres and currently comes in three colourways: fog, sand, and kitty!

With their background with arranging popups in the past, it’s a no-brainer that post-lockdown might just see MARMALADE available in person at pop-up events! But for now, you can get your hands on all of the local brand’s goodies online here.
