In October last year, we saw two beer and meat-loving Novocastrians launch their newest venture; Chops & Hops, with the aim to deliver the best products from butchers and craft brewers around regional NSW right to your doorstep.
This week, the duo decided to change up their subscription service to connect beer and meat fanatics direct to the producers, allowing customers to purchase a range of meat cuts and quality mixed craft beer in a 4-pack, 6-pack, 16-pack, or even a case of 24!
Owners, JP Kelly, and Carl Stephenson launched their new offering just this week and have already received nothing but rave reviews, and with local quality meat cuts and blooming good beer on offer, you can understand why!
“With the current COVID lockdown we have seen a real spike in enquiries for these services given the supermarket shelves are being swept clean and we are able to provide contactless home delivery.
“With our new offering, customers can choose anything from our selection of meat products and craft beers and have it delivered to their door on the next business day. We have also broadened the range to include staples in your weekly shop like minced meats, diced cuts, and bacon,” JP said.
With the majority of the meats available sourced from the Hunter Valley, you can shop knowing that quality is at the core of Chops & Hops’ offering. The online store currently features streaky bacon, pork mince, lamb mince, pork shoulder, pork belly, lamb shoulder, lamb shanks, lamb ribs, lamb loin chops, lamb leg, beef sausages, diced beef, rump steak, beef short ribs, and rib-eye steak with plans to continue growing the meat offering.
“One of our stand-out items is our olive-fed lamb from Pukara Estate. We also source some specialty products from further afar where we find exceptional quality such as Cape Grim in Tasmania. Currently, we have a good range of Beef, Lamb, and Pork products.”
Onto the beer side of things, there is no doubt a strong focus on regional craft brewers with favourites on offer including Sanctus Brewing from up near Yamba, Seven Mile Brewing Co from Ballina, The Coastal Brewing Co in Forster, and the Welders Dog from Armidale.
“We make sure we have a range of ‘sessionable’ beers that won’t punch you in the face with exotic flavours while also providing items for those that love to be more adventurous in their taste.”
The local business is offering deliveries Monday to Friday across Newcastle and Port Stephens as well as deliveries across Lake Macquarie on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. With its current success, the duo plan to continue to offer this post-lockdown!
