Hunter Homes, our region’s leading local builder, has announced an exciting ambassadorship with Prudence De Marchi – a celebrated abstract and contemporary artist based here in Newcastle.
This partnership is set to bring a fresh wave of creativity to Hunter Homes’ projects, whilst also offering you the chance to WIN a $1,000 voucher to go towards an original Prudence De Marchi artwork.
Hunter Homes has been a cornerstone of the Hunter region since its inception over two decades ago with its headquarters firmly fixed in Heatherbrae.
Under the leadership of Jason Smith, Hunter Homes rebranded eight years ago to better reflect its deep commitment to the Hunter region. With ten display homes stretching from Wyee on the Central Coast to Thrumster in Port Macquarie, the Hunter Homes brand has become synonymous with quality, community-focused building.
“Jason tapped into his local roots to build a genuine brand that truly represents and serves the region. We employ local tradespeople in each area we build, focussing on supporting the local economy and fostering regional development,” Marketing Manager, Amy Lubans said.
The decision to partner with Prudence De Marchi as an ambassador was a natural extension of Hunter Homes’ dedication to local talent. Prudence, originally hailing from Tamworth, has called Newcastle home for over 20 years, and brings a unique abstract artistry and regional pride to the table.
“Prudence’s work, characterised by vibrant abstract paintings, adds a touch of local culture and sophistication to our display homes.”
Prudence’s journey as an artist began in her childhood, surrounded by the creative influences of her mother. Her professional career has seen notable highlights, including appearances on The Block, exhibitions at Maitland Regional Art Gallery, and a memorable collaboration with luxury resort wear GYRE at Australian Fashion Week in 2022.
Despite these high-profile projects, Prudence remains deeply connected to her local roots.
Her work is a celebration of nature and colour, bringing joy and vibrancy to any space. Her abstract pieces explore the interplay of colour and form, evoking a sense of happiness and competition in the spaces they inhabit.
“I want my paintings to bring joy and make people smile when they enter the room. I love how art can complete a space and really set the tone,” Prudence said.
As part of her role as an ambassador, Prudence is creating four large paintings specifically for Hunter Homes’ new display homes. These works are inspired by landscapes of the Hunter region and are created with her favourite colour palettes and mark-making techniques.
To celebrate this exciting partnership, Hunter Homes is offering the community a chance to win a $1,000 voucher to be redeemed on Prudence De Marchi’s online store. This generous prize is enough to acquire an original artwork, with pieces ranging from $720 to $3,490.
The competition period runs from August 5, 2024 to August 25, 2024. The winner will be selected at random and announced on August 25, 2024.

“Being a Hunter local, I already knew about Hunter Homes and their gorgeous designs. I had also met the fabulous Amy from her time in interiors so when they got in touch it was lovely to reconnect with her. I find the creative community in Newcastle is unbelievably supportive. Everyone just wants to lift each other up. It’s refreshing.”
