We first introduced you to Abby Herrick and her business, Pleasure & Peach, back during our first lockdown in 2020. Navigating the concept of intimacy in isolation, we looked at the local brand’s pleasure products and how to keep intimacy alive whilst stuck at home.

We quickly fell in love with Abby’s ever-so-bubbly personality and her knowledge and experience in the world of all things pleasure. But, did you know that Pleasure & Peach was always destined for much more?

Prior to lockdowns, Abby was in the midst of launching Pleasure & Peach, which alongside her pleasure products, art, literature, and tea, she was planning to launch a collection of workshops.

With covid putting a hold on these plans for a good two years, we can finally announce that these iconic one-of-a-kind creative and educational workshops are officially back!

Launching her very first workshop, the Signature Self-Care Workshop, on Saturday, the 20^th of August 2022. Tickets are officially available, so gather your girlfriends and enjoy a fabulous afternoon where art, education, self-care, and sex come together to celebrate women!

But before we get into that, let’s go back to where it all started for Abby and give you a little insight into what you can expect from her upcoming workshops and even hear some little hints as to what is in sight for the future of this local business.

Originally from Port Stephens, Abby and her beautiful young family have called Newcastle home for the past six years. Having spent her 20s in Sydney pursuing a Bachelor of Psychology with a focus in Sexology, it was upon returning to Newcastle that the concept for Pleasure & Peach was born.

Since launching the business at the beginning of 2020, well before the concept of covid was really present. Abby’s hopes for Pleasure & Peach were to focus on the workshops and to share her knowledge and passion for the world of sexual self-care and pleasure with the wider community.

Come this July, Pleasure & Peach has just announced the arrival of two workshops available to be booked publicly or privately; the Signature Self-Care Class and the You’re The Bomb Bodycare + Sexual Self-Care Class.

Signature Sexual Self-Care Class

In this class, Abby will navigate you through the world of sexual self-care and all the wonderful ways it empowers us as women to live a more pleasure-filled and nourishing sex life.

“We facilitate a safe and nurturing space to explore topics like female pleasure centres and anatomy, the orgasm gap, health benefits of solo sex, introduction to body-safe lubricants, introduction to body-safe adult toys, how to introduce toys to partnered and solo sex, ethical porn, Q&A, and information on further resources including books, websites, inspiring creatives and artists, educators, social media accounts, and more!”

You’re The Bomb Bodycare + Sexual Self Care Class

Introducing a creative element to work alongside the signature sexual self-care class, this offering is the perfect self-care warm-up. Abby will work with you to create your own luxury bath bombs including dried flowers, essential oils, biodegradable glitter, AND a mini-waterproof vibrator; it’s the ultimate bath-time experience!

“By having a creative element to my workshops, it builds rapport within the group and with myself. So that individuals can feel comfortable to ask questions and starts the conversation of what brought you here today.

“The pleasure products are there, and the imagery is there so guests can get comfortable looking at that, to begin with. So many people are still warming up to the idea of pleasure products and maybe haven’t even seen them in the flesh before. These workshops give them time and space to feel comfortable.”

Following the fun group experience of making your own bath bombs, you’ll dive straight into the signature sexual self-care class.

With plans to expand the workshop offerings, you can expect a selection of other creative elements to be introduced, making it the perfect experience for hen’s parties, birthday parties, and even divorce parties!

“I think these workshops are GREAT for a divorce party to really encourage people to get back in touch with themselves.”

“Our base collection is body-safe lubricants and body-safe pleasure products. Obviously, the brands that I choose are very carefully researched before I decide to stock them. I want the ingredients and the materials to be really quality. Where I can, I try to choose brands that are Australian-designed, or female-owned.

“Those kinds of things are really important to me. It’s nice to be changing things around so that products actually reflect what a vulva owner wants and needs. I want the experience to be comfortable and accessible to women.”

Or, if you don’t know if someone asks you can tell them exactly what they are, a clitoris!”
