Redefining how you say ‘I Do’ in Newcastle

Weddings don’t have to mean a ballroom full of people you barely know, a year of planning stress, and a five-figure bill.

Enter Lovefool Elopements – a fresh, down-to-earth elopement experience crafted for couples who want something different.

Led by a trio of Newcastle creatives – photographer Emily Schacher of Solis Stories, celebrant Izzy Hazell of Hitched by Hazell, and tattoo artist and Tatt Bratt owner, Zoe Stone – Lovefool is here to make intimate weddings not only accessible, but unforgettable.

“I’ve always envisioned a grunge-inspired, badass, yet affordable wedding in Newcastle. After working with Izzy on my own wedding, I knew she was the perfect celebrant – and then she brought up Emily, and using Tatt Bratt as a venue. It just clicked,” Zoe said.

For Izzy, the idea had been bubbling for years.

“Most of my friends are either getting married or planning their weddings, and I kept hearing the same thing – big weddings just aren’t realistic anymore. Financially, emotionally, logistically… they don’t suit everyone.

“Lovefool was born out of the desire to create something different. Something chill, beautiful, intentional, and totally you.”

Lovefool Elopements will offer couples everything they need to tie the knot in a way that feels authentic – without the overwhelm.

The base package includes exclusive access to the art-filled Tatt Bratt studio on Bolton Street, a short and sweet ceremony crafted by Izzy, 1.5 hours of photography by Emily, bubbles or wine to toast the moment, personalised vow cards, and on-the-day coordinator, and even a heart-shaped flaming backdrop designed by Zoe.

And yes, there’s the option for couples tattoos.

“We wanted to make this as simple as possible. When you book a Lovefool Elopement, you’re getting a team that genuinely cares. We take care of the legal paperwork, guide you through writing vows, and deliver a gallery of images that feel like a cinematic memory of your day,” Emily said.

Emily’s photography approach blends documentary storytelling with editorial beauty – perfectly matching the vibe of a Lovefool elopement.

“I focus on how a wedding feels, not just how it looks. It’s about capturing those raw, fleeting moments, and preserving them with heart.”

All three creators bring deep passion and diverse creative backgrounds to the table. Zoe’s journey started in portraiture and graphic design before she found her place in tattooing. After opening Tatt Bratt in 2021, she turned the studio into not just a place for tattoos, but a hub for art, community, and now, love.

Izzy’s path to celebrancy came through a mix of wedding obsession, stage confidence, and a craving to build something of her own.

“I’m a little nosy – in the best way – which helps me connect with couples and tell their stories in a way that’s honest and heartfelt. And I love the idea of being involved beyond the ceremony now,” Izzy said.

Lovefool’s offerings are also expandable, with optional add-ons like ceremony scripts, extended photography coverage, and of course, Zoe’s signature fine-line ink.

Couples will also receive a curated list of local vendor discounts – from cake makers to content creators – carefully vetted by the trio. And the best part? The Lovefool team handles all the coordination.

So, who is this for?

“Anyone who wants something meaningful without the fluff. It’s for couples who want to get married in a space where they feel seen and supported. Where they don’t have to pretend or people-please.”

With big dreams of future pop-up elopement days styled to creative themes, this is just the beginning for Lovefool. But at its core, the mission remains simple – to create a wedding day that feels like you.

“We welcome all kinds of love, all kinds of stories. There’s no rulebook here,” Zoe said.
