Dear friends, it’s officially Autumn. Did we even have a proper Summer? That’s a discussion for another time... The point is – fresh new vibes are here. Think cool breezes, shoes crunching in the leaves, hot chocolate, and market days that don’t involve sweat and sunburn. We are also of the opinion that a new season is the perfect excuse to treat yourself to new (and sometimes old, as in re-loved) items. For the wardrobe, for the kids’ room, for your stomach!
This Sunday, head along to Speers Point Park for Homegrown’s biggest line-up yet, and the only Lake Mac market of the month! (Catch them at Newcastle, March 20th and Bimbadgen in the Hunter Valley on 28 March too… and watch this space for more locations being announced soon.)
Here are some ways to treat yourself and welcome Autumn at Homegrown Markets on 7 March.
Enjoy painting workshops with Raw Celebrations
Seriously, people, is there any better time to learn a new activity than at the start of a new season? We think not. Raw Celebrations will be running painting workshops throughout the day at Homegrown on Sunday – so get down to the lake to get arty. You’ll probably recognise Raw Celebrations from their infamous ‘paint and sip’ parties!
10 debut stalls will be joining the Homegrown line-up!
Nothing says fresh like brand new stallholders and never-before-seen products! Homegrown is welcoming 10 new makers and creatives at this market, including cute-as Sunshine Fabric Pots, made with love in Port Stephens, and beautifully textured canvas artworks by Art by Ren.
Warm your tummy with treats
This weekend, everyone’s favourite gluten-free donuts are back! Look out for the lime green signs and follow your stomach to g-free donut heaven.
Treat the littles in your life
Look, we know how easy it is to get lost in the rows and rows of ceramics, plants, and sweet treats, and forget about the little ones in your life (or is that just us?!) Luckily, Homegrown has something for everyone. Heading to a kids’ birthday party or a baby shower? Look no further than handmade wooden toys – a market favourite, back by popular demand, and the perfect eco-conscious and sustainable gift.
So just a reminder – this is the only Speers Point Park market of the month as there’s no usual third-Sunday market happening this time around. Get on down to Homegrown Markets this Sunday for coffee, a line-up of delicious foodies, live music, fresh local produce, and handmade, eco-friendly makers and shakers galore. Fun for the whole family (and your pooch!).
Homegrown’s conditions of entry
To keep Homegrown Markets #covidsafe and to keep our community safe please adhere to the following

- use hand sanitiser regularly
- stay home & get tested if you’re feeling unwell
