Brought to us by Merewether local, Desley Dunn, Beauty & The Fox offers the ultimate pamper destination with the salon featuring the latest in ground-breaking hair technology and beauty therapists armed with the latest technology and treatments to transform you to another level of relaxation.

Having been in the hair and beauty industry since her teenage years, and having owned various salons over her career, Beauty & The Fox was the natural progression following the opening of The Fox Den in 2015; Des' hair salon directly attached to her Merewether Heights family home.

Having outgrown the space and with an opportunity popping up that she just couldn’t resist, melding hair and beauty together in this iconic space in Merewether was an absolute no-brainer.

“When we decided to move into a brick and mortar store, we found 91 Mitchell St. Everything from there just flowed, and we actually purchased the building in 2021, 100 years after it was built.

“We loved that it has that history about it, plus when lockdown 2.0 happened, we used that opportunity to renovate the cottage that’s attached out the back, making it the perfect space for an Airbnb,” Des said.

That’s right, the Beauty & The Fox is even home to an Airbnb that you can rent out for your own holiday at home, or perfect for your friends and family to book when they’re visiting town! The Blissful Merewether Beach Cottage features two bedrooms and can sleep up to five.

The coastal interiors of this charming beach house perfectly reflect the neighbourhood’s vibes. Having undergone a stunning renovation, guests can enjoy the contemporary and laidback living that captures the essence of Merewether.
