Personally, it’s not a location I think about when deciding on somewhere to dine out or catch up with friends for a drink. But, after heading out to explore THYNK Café + Bar, it has certainly put Beresfield at the forefront of my dining and drinking thoughts!

Brought to Beresfield by the family-owned and run business, THYNK Group, the area’s newest hospitality venue sits below the showroom in the middle of Beresfield industrial district. The tiling selection and installation business has been serving new home builders across NSW for over 45 years, with the Newcastle showroom popping up just over two years ago.

As an extension to their already very tailored approach to helping new-home builders, the group decided to bring a café space to life downstairs to showcase exactly what the THYNK brand can do, all whilst supplying food and drink options to the local community.

“Originally, the café started purely as just a coffee offering but it has expanded its offering since then and continues to evolve. The space is representative of THYNK as a brand. Even the toilets are designed to be able to showcase THYNK products, design, and installation capabilities.”

The industrial-esque designed space packs a massive amount of wow factor. From the neon signage in the bar and expansive outdoor deck to the exposed shelving and feature wallpaper; there’s a lot to love about THYNK Café + Bar.

“You’re not just coming in for a coffee, you’re coming in to experience the architecture of the building and cutting-edge interior design. It’s our signature.”

With a dedicated grab n’ go offering for all the office and industrial workers in the area, alongside a broad breakfast and lunch menu as well as an evening food menu for those later Friday and Saturday evenings; there’s a little bit of something for everyone at this eatery.

“It’s definitely got that café styled setting during the day and then it’s more of a European/Australian offering into the evenings.”

Standout breakfast dishes include the Belgian Waffles with two topping options including bacon & maple syrup or berry compote and vanilla yoghurt. The signature THYNK Breaky Wrap made with bacon, scrambled eggs, cheese, hashbrown, and chipotle tomato relish has also been a crowd favourite.

Onto the lunch menu, you can’t go past the Chilli Nachos for 2, complete with corn chips, chilli con carne, guacamole, and sour cream or the traditional lunch favourite; a burger!

The evening menu features both small bites including Soft Tacos, Brisket Sliders, and Loaded Fries as well as main meals including burgers, pasta dishes, and even steak.

Getting their hands on an alcohol license just recently, you’d be mad not to try the exceptional range of cocktails on offer. Classic Margarita, Hazelnut Espresso Martini, Cosmo, Amaretto Sour; you name it, they can do it!

Whether you’re socialising with friends, grabbing lunch with your co-workers, looking for a meeting venue, or just wanting to explore somewhere new, THYNK Café + Bar in Beresfield’s industrial precinct might just be for you.
