Listen up foodies! There’s a new joint on Beaumont Street and if you’re a Chinese fan, you certainly don’t want to miss it!

All of the owners originally hail from China, so these guys know Chinese food, and not only that they have extensive experience within the hospitality industry and are excited to have opened up their very own space.

“We really want to introduce something new, fresh and unique to the market. We’re aiming to let the locals know that Chinese is not only dumplings and honey chicken; but there are heaps more delicious dishes.”

It’s not just about the incredibly delectable food here at Naka, but about the entire dining experience,

“We want Naka to present customers a totally different dining experience. Not only have something delicious and new but also enjoy the atmosphere and relax. Most importantly, we would like everyone to actually feel our Chinese rich cultural heritage from our dishes.”

The space itself is quite a pleasant surprise. After entering straight off the street and climbing the dark stairs, you pop out into the inviting space which is Naka. Turn the corner and you’re faced with a stunning feature wall painting of a flamingo – that of which was created by one of the very talented owners, Echo!

“We have borrowed off this meaning, ‘flamingo – the unbelievable wonder that the flame will never go out’, wishing that our Naka will be strong, stable and to be the front line of forever."

The young team are incredibly passionate about bringing a little bit of their Chinese culture and cuisine to Newcastle and can’t wait to be a part of something big!
